cost drivers are objects that significantly influence a cost entity (such as a service, service request, or incident) these drivers are associated with price list items and services when associated with a service, they define the primary cost drivers for the service viewing cost drivers log in to the console open the cost driver workspace the list of cost items comes up double click an item from the list to view its details creating a cost driver log into the console open the cost driver workspace click new itfm cost driver a blank cost driver form appears enter information into the fields field description status status of the cost driver category category type of the cost driver name unique name for the cost driver click save linking a cost driver to a service under the service tab, click the link icon a list of services is displayed choose a service from the list, then click select click save the service appears on the service list, and the cost driver is displayed within the service record under the cost driver tab linking a service to a cost driver log in to the console open the ci service workspace a list of services is displayed double click an item to open the record from the cost driver tab, click the link icon scroll to the right to find the tab a list of cost drivers is displayed choose a cost driver from the list, then click select click save the cost driver appears on the list, and the service item is displayed within the cost item record under the service tab
