Adding a warning for opened records

the system displays a warning message at the top of the screen when you open the record, indicating that another user is viewing or editing the same record you can use this feature for any business object enabling warning messages enable the global constant log in to with the administrator user role select configure application to go to the configuration console select build > global constants to open the global constants window set the enablerecordlocking value to true to turn on the warning message set the recordlockingtimeoutvalue value for example, 30 (minutes) select save enable recordlocking checkbox for a business object from the configuration console, select build > business objects > incident to open the incident business object window select the details tab under the special purpose fields section, select enable recordlocking select save enable the permissions to use record locking for a role from the configuration console, select configure > users and permissions > roles and permissions to open the roles and permissions workspace select delete permission for ivnt recordlocking business object for more information about object permissions, refer to setting up roles docid\ gt7r35f7dhfuezwdybaao select save refresh the browser for the feature to take effect record locking and additional configurations are planned for later releases on premise customers this feature uses the redis server if available in the infrastructure if redis server is not available, record locking will use the existing database
