**Overview**

This document outlines the standard procedure for upgrading to** IPS Version 25.1.1.2 (Build: 1051.1)**. To ensure a seamless installation and prevent system instability, complete the following:

**Supported Upgrade Path**

Ensure one of the following releases are running before upgrading to IPS 25.1.1.2 :

- IPS **22.7R1.13**
- IPS **22.7R1.14**

:::hint{type="info"}
**Important : **Direct upgrade from **22.7R1.13/22.7R1.14** to **25.1.1.2** is **not supported**. Ensure the following:

- Upgrade only via the intermediate upgrade path - **22.8R2.4 Build 1867.1**
- Ensure the cluster is deconstructed before the upgrade process.
- Ensure appliances are enabled with TPM module.
:::

## Procedure

**Step 1: Verify Current Version**

Verify IPS is running one of the following releases on your system:

- 22.7R1.13
- 22.7R1.14

:::hint{type="info"}
If the appliance is running an earlier release, upgrade to one of the above versions before proceeding.
:::

**Step 2: Deconstruct  the Cluster**

If the IPS appliance is part of an HA cluster and AA Cluster:

1. Deconstruct the cluster configuration. For more information, see [Cluster Migration](https://docs.ivanti.com/cluster-migration-from-228rx-to-25x).
2. Convert the node into a standalone appliance.

:::Paragraph{indent="1"}
Verify that services are operating normally before proceeding.
:::

:::hint{type="info"}
**Important:** The intermediate release must be installed on a standalone IPS appliance only.
:::

**Step 3: Upgrade to Intermediate Version**

Upgrade the standalone IPS appliance to **Version:** 22.8R2.4 (**Build:** 1867.1 )

:::hint{type="info"}
This is a mandatory intermediate release and is a transition step to the target release.
:::

**Step 4: Verify Intermediate Upgrade**

Post upgradation, verify:

- The IPS appliance is status.
- System health and service status.
- Appliance version is: Version: **22.8R2.4** (Build: **1867.1)**

:::hint{type="info"}
Proceed to the next step after successful verification.
:::

**Step 5: Upgrade to Target Release**

Verify the intermediate release is running successfully to proceed with the final upgrade to I**PS Version:** 25.1.1.2 (Build: 1051.1).

Follow the standard IPS software upgrade process and allow the appliance to reboot if required.

**Step 6: Post-Upgrade Validation**

Post upgrade to IPS 25.1.1.2, verify the following:

- Installed version and build.
- IPS services are running successfully.
- Validate management UI accessibility.

**Upgrade Summary**

| **Stage**             | **Version**            | **Build Number** |
| --------------------- | ---------------------- | ---------------- |
| Base Version          | 22.7R1.13 / 22.7R1.14  | 2773/2955        |
| Intermediate Upgrade  | 22.8R2.4               | 1867.1           |
| Target Upgrade        | 25.1.1.2               | 1051.1           |

**Limitation**

Post upgrade to **25.1.1.2 Build 1051.1,** roll back to **22.7R1.13**, **22.7R1.14**, or any other **22.7R1.x** release is not supported. If a rollback is initiated post upgrade, IPS reverts to **22.8R2.4**, not to the 22.7R1.x version.
